Dip Powder has become one of our most requested nail services, and for good reason: it's odor-free, requires no UV lamp curing, and routinely outlasts standard gel polish by a week or more. Here's what actually makes the application so durable.
How Dip Powder Actually Works
Instead of painting on polish and curing it under UV light, dip powder builds strength through repeated layers:
- A bonding base coat is applied to clean, prepped nails
- The nail is dipped directly into finely milled color powder
- Excess is brushed away and the layer is sealed
- This repeats 2–3 times to build a hard, durable shell
- A glossy top coat finishes the look
Why It Resists Chipping Better Than Gel
The powder builds a genuinely thicker, harder shell than a few coats of gel polish, which is why dip powder holds up better against daily wear — typing, dishes, gym sessions — without lifting at the tips first, which is the most common gel failure point.
Natural Nails or Extension Tips
Dip powder works beautifully on your natural nail for a strengthening effect, or over extension tips if you want added length. Either way, cuticle detailing is included so the finished look is clean at the base, not just glossy on top.
How Long It Really Lasts
Most clients get 3–4 weeks before needing a fill or full removal, noticeably longer than typical 2-week gel manicures.
